Who will drive the train? - democracy of participation
The event is part of the "Values in Action" series, where we aim for civil society practitioners and activists to develop their knowledge and practices of engaging communities and citizens in the topics of human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, rule of law and human rights.
When and Where
29 Nov 2023, 17:30 – 20:30 EET
Sofia, 3 Hristo Belchev St., 1000 Old City Center, Sofia, Bulgaria
About the event
Values in action are a series of networking events and aims to build an environment for sharing, exchanging ideas and practices and coming together among colleagues in the non-governmental sector. Come to be together - in those moments when we need to lean on another organization to make our voice louder.
"Who Will Drive the Train" is the first event in the series of networking events dedicated to participatory democracy. In an open conversation between colleagues, we will leave room to look at the created democratic tools for civic participation, both from the perspective of professionals and defenders of democracy and equal rights, as well and from the perspective of citizens living in a dynamic time with constant variables. We will give a space to share opinion, experience, practices and ideas.
And since it's June and it's PRIDE month, we're going to meet some of the SOFIA PRIDE organizers who have been rallying their community for equal rights for LGBTQI people for years now. We will discuss with them how an event of this scale is organized in a country like ours.
Come to an informal and engaged conversation between colleagues, activists, experts, and ultimately - people in Štrak, where we will also offer a drink to make the atmosphere as sharing as possible.
For those of you unable to attend live, there will be an online link during the plenary talks. You will receive a link after signing up.
