I graduated in political science at the University of National and World Economy, and my great passion is the non-governmental sector and the wonderful meaningful initiatives that take place through it. I have been living in Haskovo for 12 years - a sunny southern town with huge potential, which my family and I chose as our home. I have been working for various non-governmental organizations for 9 years, and since 2019 I have been the manager of the HALO 2019 Foundation.
My professional experience is extremely diverse and goes through counseling victims of domestic violence, employment mediation of persons with disabilities, organizing self-help and solidarity groups in 15 villages in Haskovo district, conducting cleaning campaigns and initiatives to promote the cultural heritage of local level, administrative activities, team management, preparation of project proposals and implementation of projects with Bulgarian, European and foreign funding. The NGOs I have worked with are the Bulgarian Center for Gender Studies - Haskovo Branch Foundation, the HID Gender Perspectives Foundation, the Future for Fortress Association, the National Patient Organization Association, the Sai High Foundation, the HALO 2019 Foundation and many local community centers and retirement clubs I have organized and participated in many seminars, conferences, workshops, information meetings, media events, etc. I created and implemented with content 3 sites and 3 Facebook pages of various NGOs.
I am well aware of the specifics of organizational communication and the NGO sector and I have solid experience in ensuring the publicity of projects. I have experience in creating materials for various communication channels and audiences (posters, brochures, leaflets, press releases, publications on websites and social networks, etc.), I am well acquainted with the basic journalistic principles of working with information. I have worked on the construction and management of the digital profiles of two NGOs, as well as on the creation of communication strategies and the management of the plans for their implementation.
Professional interests in the NGO field
My interests are in several areas that complement each other. First of all, I would like to work for the introduction of good governance practices at local level, which are based on transparency and active citizen participation. For me, the activation of the citizens can happen through their inclusion in initiatives that are close to them (and to me) such as nature conservation, preservation of traditions and customs, revival of the Bulgarian countryside.
Haskovo District is the focus of my work, but open to initiatives and partnerships without restrictions in the geographical scope.
There are three things I am very proud of:
I organized and conducted a serious campaign and managed to fight for the preservation of the Crisis Center for Victims of Domestic Violence in Dimitrovgrad, at a time when the local government was sabotaging its work and using all available tools to leave it without funding;
I managed to activate the small communities in 15 villages in Haskovo district, populated mainly by elderly people who profess the belief that the state (in the person of the president, prime minister and village mayor) is to blame for everything. To my great joy, these communities are still active to this day (despite the disputes and quarrels within them) and are fighting for the well-being of the villages.
I managed to unite young people from Haskovo who want to contribute to the development of the city and together we created the HALO 2019 foundation.
